COVID POLICIES SUMMER 2023

Although COVID 19 vaccines are not required by the Village of Saltaire for campers or staff, the Village will still adhere to the following guidelines in order to keep campers, staff, and families as safe as possible.

COVID EXPOSURE and POSITIVE TESTING – Staff and Campers

If camper or staff has a confirmed COVID Close contact in household exposure: please alert Medical Director:

  • May come to Camp but MUST wear a Mask for 5 days
  • Mask not required when eating, drinking, or swimming

If camper or staff has a potential close contact:

  • May come to Camp, no mask necessary but watch for COVID-like symptoms
  • Symptoms:
    • Temperature over 100.4
    • Sore Throat
    • General malaise (tired, low energy)
    • Diarrhea/upset stomach
    • Upper respiratory infection (cough)

If a staff member notices a camper has COVID-related symptoms:

  • Call Medical Director to do a medical assessment

If camper or staff have COVID-related Symptoms:

  • Notify Medical Director
  • Self-test at home and/or see your healthcare provider:
    • Campers: If negative, send test to nursedana@saltaire.org and use your best judgment based on your symptoms regarding when you should return to camp.
    • Campers: if positive, see CONFIRMED CASE below.
    • Staff: If negative, send test to mario@saltaire.org and use your best judgment based on your symptoms regarding when you should return to camp.
    • Staff: if positive, see CONFIRMED CASE below

Confirmed Case:

  • Alert Medical Director
  • 5 days quarantined from day of test (day of test is day 0)
    • If no symptoms or improving symptoms after 5 days: Check in with Medical Director to be cleared to re-enter the program. Once cleared for reentry the camper must wear a tight-fitting mask 6-10 days
    • Mask not required when eating, drinking, or swimming
    • Notification goes to all “potential close contacts” watch for symptoms for 5 days, no mask necessary for campers or staff
    • Notification goes to camper’s group and staff

COVID Tests will be provided to campers and staff if necessary – call the office and we will make a plan to get the COVID test to you or your camper/family.
